ASA Leadership

ASA's leadership has continued to redefine microfinance. ASA was the first MFI, for example, to borrow from a commercial bank at commercial rates. ASA is able to absorb financial cost at commercial rates because the fundamentals of the ASA Model serve to streamline operations, allowing branches to generate profits within 9 months of establishment. The recently approved US$ 20 million World Bank-IDA loan through PKSF for expansion of service underlines the soundness of ASA operations and ASA's ability to undertake bold growth initiatives. But ASA is also very active in promoting the growth and stability of the microfinance sector as a whole by adapting the ASA Model to various environments in other countries while achieving similar success.
