WELCOME TO ASA AND BANGLADESH ASA (a globally renowned specialized micro finance institution) was founded in 1978 by a group of young social and political activists fighting their own liberation struggle against Pakistan. ASA started out as a social action organization to conscientise, mobilize and organize people who were poor and powerless to resist oppression, injustice and to assert their rights of access to institutional resources. The slant of the Organization shifted in 1985 to enhance the socio-economic upliftment of people who were poor through integrated development programmes in health, education, human development, womens development, post-disaster management and irrigation for the landless and marginal farmers. The credit program for income generation that ASA then operated evolved in 1991 to become the singular focus of the Organization to date. Now ASA is a sustainable microfinance institute in Asia and Pacific fighting on poverty with a self-reliant microcredit model. We are highly specialized on microfinance program and offering special exposure visit training on Microfinance.
